日本でオスのカブトムシは、姿といい、大きさといい、力強さといい、まさに昆虫の王様です。クワガタムシとは違って、どこでも比較的簡単に捕まえることができ、飼育も簡単ですので、子供たちにも大変人気があります。私は、今でも、色つやがよく、深い紫色をした大きなオスのカブトムシを見つけたときは思わず感動しています。その昆虫の王様、オスのカブトムシをつくってみることにしました。顔から角にかけての特徴的な形、立体的な力強い脚の表現に少し苦戦しましたが、なんとか出来上がりました。どうです、昆虫の王様に見えますか。【4-03-20-0426】
